About the Greenland Representation in Brussels

The Representation of Greenland in Brussels was established in 1992 in connection to the Royal Danish Embassy in Belgium.

Greenland Representation is located in the same building as The Danish Permanent Representation, The Royal Danish Embassy, and the Mission of the Faroese to the European Union.

The representation staff consists of:

As the Greenland Self-Government delegate, the Minister Counsellor is credentialed to Belgium.

Purpose and Tasks

The Representation of Greenland deals with Greenland’s relations to the EU, including:

• Coordinate Greenland interest with the European Union Institutions and relevant partners
• The Partnership Agreement between EU and Greenland
• The Fisheries Agreement between EU and Greenland
• The OCT association, OCTA and OCT Executive Committee
• Access to EU  programmes.
• The development in the EU's Arctic Policy
• Assists Greenlandic institutions and private companies having a special interest in the European Union
• Offers service to the Greenlandic Government, Parliament and central administration
• Antenna for European development in relation matters relevant for Greenland
• Information about Greenland in the European Union and vice versa.

The Representation of Greenland in Brussels is a part of Greenland Self-Government and is affiliated to the Department of Foreign Affairs.
